Urban Culture

The urban culture in modern day Pakistan is largely found with a high regard for traditional family values and strict ways of life. If one were to walk through any urban street in Pakistan one would see how everyone almost shares the same values. It is a way of life for the urban culture to always carry their long vast traditions on their shoulders. This is why i say Pakistan urban culture is so strong. Strong because there is no break in the everyday life style. If you were to talk to person in Pakistan that has lived there for many years they probably would give you information that will connect you to a long tradition. From the food they cook to how find a clothing store all will connect to how life has not change to much in its long history. For instants they use there culture from street vendors selling there contemporary rugs to seamstresses making taller made clothing, all gives an example of how way of life is controlled by the urban culture. This culture is a very beautiful culture with such a colorful atmosphere that it portrays from the people who made it. The night life is similar and very different to urban cultures from the U.S.. In Pakistan night life is filled with late night restaurants and colorful lights looming down on everyone as if one was in time square New York city. But the big thing that separates Pakistan culture from the U.S. is the sober life style. Since Pakistan is a Islamic society alcohol is prohibited thus really separating the tone of the night life from the U.S. But they still find fun and great times amongst the non drinking policy from dance clubs to music lighting up the streets for every ones enjoyment. So if one is planing on viewing Pakistan's culture and wondering what can sum up its urban society in one word that would have to be COLORFUL.

  1. I agree Rich, Pakistan's traditions are a part of their everyday life. Could you imagine if a common American shared some of the same values that Pakistani's do? Our country would probably be comepletely different!!!
